Mission
The mission of Smithtown Stitchers Quilt Guild is to promote and perpetuate the art of quilting through education, the preservation of its heritage, and the encouragement of high standards in design and technique. We strive to provide a supportive community for quilters of all skill levels and to give back to our local community through charitable quilting projects.
Each month Comfort Quilts are delivered to many local charities. Your donation of these beautiful finished quilts bring comfort to many at a very difficult time.
Additionally, the baby items you donated were greatly appreciated at this month’s Baby Shower at the Northwell Family Health Center, which was attended by 40 moms-to-be.
The Comfort Quilt race is on!
Kits are available, or you may use your own fabric. If you need batting, please email the Comfort Quilt team. When finishing your quilt, please remember to pick up a Smithtown Stitchers label at the meeting. Labels should be machine-sewn to the back of the quilt with no raw edges; you can use a zig-zag or blanket stitch to secure them.
Size Requirements
Please ensure all quilts are made with 100% high-quality cotton.
- NICU/Preemie: 30″ × 30″ (pastel colors only, to lay on top of the isolette).
- Baby/Kid: 36″ × 48″ (bright colors and novelty themes).

If your pattern is too small, please consider adding borders to meet these dimensions.
